The Society of St Vincent de Paul is a Catholic voluntary organization formed in Paris in 1833 to help the poor of the city. The society is named in honor of Vincent de Paul 1581-1660 who devoted himself to the poor of Paris and encouraged other priests to do the same. They are now in 153 countries around the world, including the United States. The unique feature about this particular church is how it looks like a Swiss Ski Lodge. Father Ryan, who ordered it, just returned from Switzerland, so that may be where it influence came from. This church did survive both the 1906 and 1989 earthquakes. As seen 16 November 2022.
