Popular Golden Rock (Kyaiktiyo Pagoda) with two viewing platform in the foreground. It is surrounded by lush greenery and the nearer platform has two gazebo style shade due to the hot scorching sun. This is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma and very popular with the small pagoda built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by devotees at the hilltop. According to old legend, the rock itself is precariously rested on a strand of the Buddha's hair. This is the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Myanmar.
