The Great blue heron, Ardea herodias, builds their nests in a colonie of a hard to reach trees with other Great blues. Depending on locations, start building their nest around mid to late February then lay their eggs, and they start to hatch about a month later.
These chicks are now about five weeks old, not quite old enough to start flying, fledging, which usually start at around seven to eight weeks.
