The Fuchsia paniculata is a very attractive garden plant, and apparently, like all fuchsia, the whole plant seems to be edible. In the 1600`s, the French botanist Charles Plumier, when he went to Hispaniola, not only did he note the locals eating the plant, but used it for medicines also.
