Built in 1950 but not opened until 1952 as Park bowl, it was one of 10 bowling alleys in San Francisco, or very near by. By 1996 it became Amoeba Music, with the landmark sign left in place. Some of the stores windows have balling pins and assorted memorabilia on display. Only two of the original alleys are left, with now two new ones added. Surprisingly, with all the on-line music sites now available, Amoeba is still thriving. One reason, vinyl, as in records, is back. And they have it, big.
