For decades now,autonomous robots have been the things of science fiction. That was then,this is now,starting out slowly just going around closed off parking lots. Waymo,the first still the biggest developer of autonomous hardware for cars,is owned by Google. They use both the Jaguar I Pace and Chrysler Pacifica,some with special wrap around paintings. Cruise,owned by General Motors,uses the Chevy Bolt. Their individual cars have special names. The newest entry into this fray is Toyota,with no special names for their cars. It is interesting to note how they all use their own array of cameras,sensors and LIDARS,which is an acronym for 'laser imaging,detection and ranging',or 'light detection and ranging'. As seen on the streets of San Francisco 1 April 2023.
