The common seal, or harbor seal are the ones along the western North America along the Pacific coast. With an average weight of 35 lbs 16kg at birth, they are already diving and swimming within hours. They eat primarily fish and shell fish, they have been known to eat duck also. Although the largest numbers of the Pacific seals are found along the California coast, they have been seen as far north as Washington State.
