Bougainvillea is native to the South America regions of Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Peru. It`s deceptive, with heart shaped leaves, but can have a thorny stem.
The tiny white flower is surrounded by the pink bract, the part of the plant that most people call petals, which is used for attracting pollinators.
