This 1908 classical Corinthian style Bank of California building is on the site of what was the Tehama House Hotel.
This as a bank building was built to replace the original headquarters of the bank, which happened to have been torn down just before the 1906 quake.
The Tehama House Hotel was one of the cities early, grand hotels where the most elite would stay, including Joshua Norton, before becoming better known as Norton 1, Emperor of the United States.
As seen 9 August 2022.
