If this beautiful Stick Estate house looks a bit out of place sandwiched in between its two neighbors, it is. This home, when built in 1876 was originally on Turk Street. During renovation of the downtown area, this home got moved, and the Opera House now sits where this one did. As narrow as this house is, compared to the other two, apparently it needed to be shaved down a little bit on one side, just to get it to fit into the space. John Vollmer, a German immigrant who was one of the first owners of the home with his family, owned a grocery store while it was still on Turk. As seen 29 November 2022.
