On 24 February 2022,Russia invaded Ukraine,again. In the year since,thousands of innocent civilian Ukrainians have been killed. To mark this sad one year anniversary,rallies in support of Ukraine were held across the United States and around the world on 25 February 2023. In San Francisco alone,thousands came out to the Embarcadero Plaza,to hear honest testimony by Ukrainians who now have to make the Bay Area home,and are in daly fear for the lives of loved ones left behind. There were also speeches by the Ukrainian Counsel General and a couple of Senators. Then there was singing by the Ukrainian Children Chorus. This was followed by a march along the Embarcadero to Pier 39,and some more speech making and singing. There was support from Iranians and Russians and Lithuanians and Jews and Christians. In all,it was a proud and peaceful,if not sad,event.
