These hand painted, 18 foot traditional style Lakota tepees include a floor cover, liner for privacy, and door flap. A tipi or tepee is a conical lodge tent that is distinguished from other conical tents by the smoke flaps at the top of the structure, and historically made of animal hides or pelts. The North American nomadic tribes that followed the buffalo lived in teepees or tipis, specifically the North American Plains Indians and Great Lakes Regions. The teepees were designed to be set up quickly and broken down so the tribes could easily move around. from the Dakota language and Lakota language.
