This is a Summer picture of the historic Water Dome on the campus of Florida Southern College located in Lakeland, Florida in Polk County. This fountain was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, this fountain is a perfect circle, it is 160 feet across, when the high-pressure nozzles are activated they shoot water 45 feet into the air to created a “dome” of water, it was completed in 1948. This fountain is a contributing property to the Florida Southern College Architectural District which was added to the National Register of Historic zplaces on June 11, 1975. This picture was taken on July 16, 2018.
