The pond De Lepelaar in the Harderbos near Biddinghuizen has frozen over after a last cold night in March. The lake is a refuge for all kinds of waterfowl. In 1968 the forest was planted in the new Flevoland polder. The soil consists of fertile marine clay, so that the trees and plants grow well.
