Ayutthaya Historical Park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, which was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1351. The city was captured by the Burmese in 1569. Part of the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is one of the most important historical sites in Ayutthaya and is still an active temple where monks reside.
