Syntomoides imaon, also known as the common redeye, is a species of butterfly found in Southeast Asia. It has a wingspan of about 5-6 centimeters and is easily recognizable by its vibrant red and black coloration. The upper side of the wings is a striking red with black markings, while the underside is a mottled brown color with eye-like spots to deter predators. These butterflies are often found in open habitats such as grasslands, gardens, and forest edges. They are strong fliers and can be seen fluttering from flower to flower in search of nectar. The caterpillars of Syntomoides imaon feed on various plants in the Rubiaceae family. Ho Chi Minh City. Viet Nam.
