"Leander's House" (1905 Karelskaya str. , 13). Architect Gottlieb Eliel Saarinen. The building was built for the National Joint Stock Bank. The architect Joknen Leander participated in the construction, as the legend says. However, the house is not named after him.The building in the style of Finnish national romanticism became one of the first stone buildings of Sortavala. And the customer was Oski (Oscar) Leander, a member of the city court, who designed the bank's operating room. The first director of the bank until 1911 was brother architect Hannes Saarinen. And after him came the very Oski (Oscar) Leander.
