Religious leader, teacher, composer, singer, and musician Shlomo Carlebach is joined byhis wife Elaine Neila Gluck, and daughter Dari in Jerusalem in 1986. Carlebach was born in Berlin in 1925 and lived for some years in northern California where he became devout. He had eclectic views on religion and music and enjoyed a close relationship with singer Nina Simone for some years. Carlebach died in New York City in 1994 at the age of 69.
