St. Clemens, built in 1712-1718 as the first Catholic church in Hanover after the Reformation and faithfully rebuilt after WWII with the dome originally envisioned by Tommaso Giusti, is the main Roman Catholic church in Hanover and the only one in northern Germany with a purely Italian character.
