The Frauentor was the main gate in the southeast of the Nuremberg city wall. It was named after the Clarissan monastery of St. Clare behind it. Through the gate one could leave the city in the direction of Regensburg and other southeastern towns. Since payments to the gatekeeper are documented from the year 1386, its construction must have been completed in this year at the latest. June 25, 2023
