This is a Winter picture of the historic Portiuncula Chapelon a bed of snow on the Mayslake Peabody Estate located in Oakbrook, Illinois in DuPage County. This Chapel is a replica of the Portiuncula Chapel located in Assisi, Italy, it was constructed by the Franciscans in 1926 on the Southside of Mayslake, it was moved to the Northeast side of the lake in 1973. This Chapel is a contributing property to the Mayslakeeabody Estate which was added to the National Register of Histoeic Places on November 8, 1994. This picture was taken on February 8, 2018.
