English stage, screen, and television actress Diana Rigg arrives on the red carpet for the 72nd Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 10, 2018. She had been nominated in 2018 for her Broadway role as `Mrs. Higgins` in a revival of `My Fair Lady.` In 1994 she won the Tony as best actress in `Medea.` On television Rigg was perhaps best known for her role as espionage agent `Emma Peel` in the 1960s British cult favorite, `The Avengers.` She was an Emmy winner and 9-time nominee. She was also nominated for her role as `Olenna Tyrell` in `Game of Thrones.` Rigg holds the distinction of being the sole Mrs. James Bond, opposite George Lazenby in `On Her Majesty`s Secret Service` in 1973. She briefly held a professorship at Oxford and was awarded the prestigious Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Diana Rigg died in her London home on September 10, 2020, from cancer at the age of 82.
