This magnificent half-timbered building dates from the 15th century and is located in the middle of the market square. The administrative headquarters of the city of Rhens has been located in the town hall since it was built. The rich half-timbering, supported by cross struts (called Wild Man) and the smaller diagonal struts decorated with noses, protrude below the twice-divided gable. The carved city coat of arms with the year 1709 (the year the gable superstructure was built) can be seen in the transom panel under the arched hatch. A clock is inserted into the small slate roof turret at the top of the gable. The gable facing Viehgasse varies the half-timbered decoration with curved diagonal struts and St. Andrew's crosses.
