The rice paddies and its surroundings are also home to the red swamp dragonfly, they eat mosquitos, small insects such as flies and butterflies, these tiny predators are greatly appreciated in controlling mosquito populations. A dragonfly spent most of its life below the water surface as larvae and will emerge after one to three years; they live only about four months. The dragonfly is known as the fastest insect in the world and their big eyes can see in a field of vision that is nearly 360 degrees. r n
