Opel Ampera at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The Opel Ampera's is powered electrically at all speeds. For as much as up to 60 km, it runs on electricity stored in the 16-kWh, lithium-ion battery. There are no CO2 emissions at all. When the battery runs out, an engine-generator produces more electricity to extend the car's range to more than 500 km. The Opel Ampera can be plugged into any household 230v outlet for charging. The Ampera was voted the 2012 Car of the Year at the show. Photo taken on: March 8, 2012
