The Museum of Archeology and History Hungarian: Régészeti és Történeti Múzeum is a museum belonging to the Mureș County Museum that operates in one of the most impressive architectural monuments with Renaissance elements in Transylvania. Initially intended as the town hall of the free royal city of Târgu Mureș, during the use of the medieval fortress in the town by Austrian troops, the destination of the building was changed to command and after an extensive reconstruction in Baroque style took its current form. The building was renovated between 2008-2014 by the Mureș County Museum and here operates the Museum of Archeology and History from Târgu Mureș with permanent and temporary specialized exhibitions.
