The Capitoline Wolf Status from Targu Mures city, Transylvania, Romania The Capitoline Wolf Statue or the Latinity Monument is located in the center of Târgu Mureș, on the City Hall Street, near the Rose Square. Lupa Capitolina is a monument of Latinity located in Rome, Italy. In order to pay homage to the Latin origin of the Romanian people, between 1906-1926 the Italian state gave Romania 4 copies of the famous Lupa Capitolina from Rome Bucharest 1906, Cluj 1921, Chisinau 1921, Timisoara 1926. The statue in Târgu Mureș is a copy of the statue of Lupoaica in Bucharest modeled by the sculptor Ion Schmidt Faur, unveiled on May 23, 1924. The statue is inscribed on the list of historical monuments in Mureș County, elaborated by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Romania in 2010.
