Pictured is a mosaic on a lunette in the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia in Ravenna, Italy. A pair of deer are drinking water at a pond, and acanthus shoots in the background. This image refers to Psalm 42, 'As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.' The mausoleum was commissioned in the first half of the 5th century AD by empress Galla Placidia. Beautiful mosaics fill every part of the interior. It is a UNESCO World Heritage monument since 1996.
