The Central Oregon High Desert is epitomized in the expansive Millican Valley, 30 miles east of Bend, Oregon. The broad desolate valley surrounded by rolling barren hills is home to sagebrush, packs of coyotes, bitterbrush, western junipers, rabbitbrush and herds of mule deer. From this vantage point looking north from Spencer Wells Road (Forest Road 23), Bear Creek Buttes can be seen on the distant horizon.
