The Central Oregon High Desert is epitomized in the Millican Valley, 30 miles east of Bend, Oregon. The broad desolate valley surrounded by rolling barren hills is home to sagebrush, packs of coyotes, bitterbrush, western junipers, rabbitbrush and herds of mule deer. From this vantage point looking east from Spencer Wells Road (Forest Road 23), Pine Mountain fills the horizon.
