known by the common names of cinamomo, cinnamo or neem tree, is a tree native to the east (from Asia to Australia) and subspontaneous in America, the Mediterranean and Africa. It reaches 20 meters in height. Its wood is appreciated, with a whitish, pink or reddish color, with brown veins. It is widely cultivated as an ornamental tree. Its flowers are aromatic. It has deciduous foliage, composed of leaves, used for medicinal purposes, bi-imparinpinnate (compound leaves, which are subdivided into small sets paired with an odd number of leaflets). Although its fruits are appreciated by birds, they are toxic to humans and pigs. This species, exotic in Brazil, has invasive characteristics in several biomes, especially in riparian areas.
