Yasaka Shrine is a shrine located in Higashiyama, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is the twenty-two shrines, and the old shrine was Guanbi Taisha (the current shrine's main hall's Bieyou Shrine). It is the head office of about 3,000 Yasaka Shrines in Japan, nicknamed Gion-san. The routine ritual activities of the shrine are called the Gion Festival, which is called the three major festivals in Japan together with the Kanda Festival in Tokyo and the Tenjin Festival in Osaka.
