The Japanese word Kinokuniya ruffly translates as `Bookstore of Kii Province`. This is where the bookstore name comes from, which also gave its name to this portion of the mall at San Francisco Japantown. In addition to all of the Japanese inspired shops and restaurants, there is also a beautifully done scale model of the Osaka Castle. This is one of the countries more famous castles for its uses during the sixteenth century for the unification of the country. As seen 19 December 2022.
