It is said to have the same origin as Hasunuma Hikawa Shrine, which was built in Maenuma, Hasune Village (near Funato Hikawa Shrine) during the Keicho period (1596-1615). In 1901, the then-Kami Hasunuma Village and Neba Village merged to form Hasune Village, and it became Hasune Village's guardian shrine. It is said that it was moved to this location in 1923, and in 1933, Mitakesha and Inarisha, which were located at 3-11 Sakashita, were moved to the precincts.
