Glory of the snow flowers, Scilla sect. Chionodoxa, blooming in spring. The flower has six tepals fused at the base to form a cup. The center is white giving the flower a frosted look and small yellow tufts of pollen add to its beauty. It is native to Greece, Turkey and Cyprus but has been planted as an ornamental in gardens in the United States and naturalized onto lawns.
