Giant golden orb web spider (Nephila pilipes), also known as Northern golden orb weaver, giant golden orb weaver, golden silk orb-weavers, golden orb-weavers, giant wood spiders, or banana spiders is a species of golden orb-web spiders. Females are very large compared to males. Its web is vertical with a fine irregular mesh. It is not symmetrical, with the hub usually nearer the top.
