Oravi?a railway station, built in the period 1847-1849, is the oldest railway station in Romania and the only one in the country where the train arrives on the first floor, and for access to the platform an elevator-passage was provided to go up from the ground floor at street level on the first floor, where the platform is. It was the starting point for the railway Oravi?a – R?c?sdia – Iam – Jasenovo (Serbia) – Biserica Alb? (Serbia) – Bazia?, which is the first railway in Romania and the oldest in South-Eastern Europe (1854).
