Pictured is a poorly preserved fresco in the Church of Santa Maria del Tiglio in Gravedona on Lake Como in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. On the bottom right in the best preserved fresco we see Saint Nicholas to the right of the enthroned virgin and on the left a client and another Saint. Saint Nicholas of Myra was an early Christian bishop of Greek descent from the maritime city of Myra in Asia Minor. Because of many miracles attributed to his intercession, he was also known a Nicholas the Wonderworker.
