Pictured is a fresco of Saint Christopher carrying the child Christ in the Church of Santa Maria del Tiglio on Lake Como in Gravedona in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. Saint Christopher is a martyr killed in the reign of the 3rd-century roman emperor Decius. His most famous legend tells that he carried a child, who was unknown to him, across a river before the child revealed himself as Christ. Therefore he is the patron saint of travelers.
