Video Footage: Eye Level View Of Turnstones Feeding And Calling

ID 267734368 © Stegidz | Megapixl.com

A group of turnstones feeding on meal worms that I put on the path next to my camera. The sound they made was incredible as they fed. The scientific name for them is Arenaria interpres. This was taken at Fleetwood near one of the boating lakes. During their migration they stop off in large numbers to rest and feed. They are small wading birds and get their name from how they feed on beaches.
