Close-up of the elaborative ceiling featuring painted panels depicting biblical scenes and richly carved white plaster work. One of the oldest churches in Salzburg, the original church was built on this site in the 8th century. Over time it was remodeled several times. It became part of the Franciscan Order in 1642. Today the interior is a mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles.
