Cormorants (Phalacrocoracidae) are a family of aquatic birds.They feed on fish they capture underwater. They propel themselves mainly with their legs They can dive for more than a minute, and reach a depth of approximately 10 m. Unlike the feathers of most waterfowl, cormorants' feathers are not completely waterproof, allowing them to sink and dive with ease. Once on land, they spread their wings to dry them. In addition, they regulate the volume of their air sacs.
