Despite the name, the Common primrose, Primula vulgaris, is not at all related to the rose family. It is simply from the Latin, Prima Rosa, as it is the first appearing in the spring. The `vulgaris` refers to this being a common plant. Normally flowers are used for teas, but with this, the leaf is used for tea making, the flower is used for wine. It also has various medical uses, and is good for vitamin `C`. As seen in Golden Gate Park 4 March 2022.
