Similar in taste to a sweet grapefruit, the pomelo is a symbol of prosperity and good luck. Its name in Chinese, 柚å youzi, is a homonym for abundance, prosperity, having children, good health and family unity, and the fruit is commonly consumed and used for festive occasions throughout Southeast Asia.
