San Francisco`s Clarion Alley is a small community noted for its artist and community activism, situated in San Francisco`s Mission district. Starting in 1992, a couple of these local artists starting painting murals directly on the outsides of the building, some doors, and even an electrical poll, all along the alley, about the situation in the neighborhood. There are also depictions of animals originally native to the area. One thing also to note, there are a lot of shoes that were thrown up and onto the overhead electrical wires. No explanation. Used to mean the owner of those shows had a tragic and untimely end, and no longer need the shoes There are a lot of shoes just like there is a lot of very good mural art to enjoy.
