Tracing their history back to 1898 with the arrival of the first generation Issei devout Shin Buddhist, they established the first Judo Shinshu Shin Buddhist organization in the mainland United States, 30 July 1898. occupying this same spot since 1910, the Royal Court of Thailand in 1935 offered the Church relics of The Buddha and his disciples which are said to be in the stupa on the roof. One thing some people might feel a little disconcerting over is what appears to be a Swastika on the cornerstone on the right side of the Pine Street entrance. This has nothing to do with Naziisme, but represents the four loves of Buddhism with the four `l`s`. During the internment of the Japanese Americans during the period of WW2, the local community looked after the church. As seen 14 December 2022.
