In all major prisons, including Ilimsky, there was a special building for storing weapons. It is known from the inventory of the Ilimsky prison that in 1694 the Cossacks were armed with both cold weapons - berdyshs (8 pcs.) and spears, and firearms - squeakers (24 pcs.), carbines (2 pcs.), two small guns on machines that had 121 iron cores.
