This is an Argia genus damselfly, Coenagrionidae family, Argiinae subfamily. Argia genus contains about 110 species. This is probably an Argia gaumeri species, the blueish stream damselfly from Petén. They are commonly known as dancers. Narrow winged tropical damselfly with body length about 40 mm. Found on freshwater habitats. When perched, they usually hold their wings slightly raised above the abdomen.Observed at Cerro Cahuí Protected Biotope, Petén, northern Guatemala.
