Selim the Terrible Bridge (Turkish: Yavuz Sultan Selim Köprüsü, also called the Third Bosphorus Bridge) - road and rail suspension bridge over the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul, Turkey. The name of the bridge was given in honor of the Turkish Sultan Selim I the Terrible, who was one of the builders of the power of the Ottoman Empire. The bridge was built in 2013-2016. It is the longest suspension structure in the world used for rail traffic and the ninth longest suspension bridge in the world. Its total length is 2,164 m, the length of the longest span is 1,408 m, the height of the pylons is 322 m.
