Zabriskie Point is a part of the Amargosa Range in Death Valley National Park in California USA. Once level layers of clay, sandstone and siltstone from the lake bed of Furnace Creek have been tilted by seismic activity and pressure that has folded the ancient valley floor. Subsequent erosion from rain water eroded the soft rocks into todays chaotic but strangely beautiful landscape.
